about
"Kings Of The Wasteland" is the first of several new offerings from multi-instrumentalist and producer Jeremy Krull. It is an expansive dynamic ride of a song with many moods and elements but gladly wears the throwback vibe on its sleeve. It is an idea that was conceived, forgotten about, and then fully realized some years later and in a much grander fashion than was anticipated, to the point that it will be released as standalone single.
The inspiration for the piece comes from dystopian films from the 1980s based in urban settings, like Escape From New York, 1990: Bronx Warriors, Class Of 1984/1999, and a few more from the genre, as well as composers like Jerry Goldsmith and Vince DiCola. The primary of focus of the piece was to be broad and powerful but also somehow uplifting, which clashes greatly with the artist’s previous works, hence it got a single release.
Jeremy Krull composed, produced, engineered and mixed the song. Drumming on the track is the legendary Shane Gaalaas (The B’z, Yngwie Malmsteen, Cosmosquad). Mastering was handled by Maor Appelbaum (Sabaton, Faith No More, Halford).
